“And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete.” (2 Cor. 10:6)
If I am to train my children up to be godly men and women, and discipline them for “every act of disobedience”, I have to first become obedient myself. The worldly concept of “do as I say, not as I do” is not logical or biblical. Raising godly children starts with obedience…my own.

I found your blog and was blessed by what you have written. Our pastor had a very good sermon this morning on training children. They act like we allow them to act. And if we are not consistent in training them the right responses then it is the parents who need the discipline. How I need to learn this! It is so easy to get after the children for things when I really ought to be changing myself. Here is our church website- you might find interesting and it would give you a little idea of what we teach. We strongly desire truth and to get back to what the Bible says and get the ‘rubbish’ of modern christianity cleared out of the way. http://www.churchofmonett.com If you go to the bulletin board section you would find various articles by some of us.

We just had a sermon yesterday about training children. The children will act as we allow them to act and if they are wild and undisciplined and disobedient it is the parents first who need to discipline themselves. We must train them rightly that they might rightly perceive God and our duty as His creation to be obedient to Him our Creator for He is worthy.
