I am trying to broaden my menu options, but I am generally known to be a pretty terrible cook.  I have a very limited number of dishes that I have mastered (like 4) and I basically just rotate them.. until we get sick of them- that’s when we start eating out and unecessarily spending insane amounts of money…. SO 🙂  I was hoping that any of you might have a fairly easy recipe that you would be willing to share??  I would GREATLY appreciate any help that I could get!  I am also wanting some recipes where the kids can be more involved in the preparation, etc. (but ANYTHING would be better than what I am working with now!) Thank you!!!!!

For the past 6 weeks or so, my children’s behaviors and attitudes have gotten progressively worse due to my inconsistent parenting and my excessive involvement in selfish hobbies and interests.  It has gotten to the point where I literally do not even recognize the two year old that I once called my daughter, and my son’s foolishness is bringing grief to his father and making me a rather bitter, unpleasant person to be around.  I cannot believe that it has taken me so long to get it together, but I finally took action today and began truly “tomato-staking” my kids.  Today was truly a family “boot camp” experience, as I diligently trained and disciplined my children while including them in long overdue tasks and household “chores”.  We read and played together, talked and laughed together, and sang and danced together (of course, I also spent a significant amount of time correcting and disciplining their disobedience and negative attitudes).  It’s been challenging at times, but it has really been a fulfilling day for me and I haven’t had that in a long time.  I am finally seeing the possibilities that seemed mythical days ago.  I cannot even tell you how good it feels.

I’m ready for day two!

When I was about 9 weeks pregnant (with my current pregnancy), someone asked me if I had names picked out yet. I giggled and replied, “Goodness, no! I’m only 9 weeks!” Yeah, well now I’m only 12 weeks and I think I may have baby names picked out…because I’m lame and I spent hours one night doing a baby name search. 🙂

For a girl: Amira (pronounced Ah-mee-rah) ~which means “princess”

For a boy: Omari ~which means “God the highest” and also “populous, flourishing, long-lived, and good speaker”

Let me know what you think, or if you have any other baby name suggestions… 🙂

Here’s the website address for the documentary “The Business of Being Born”. I watched it last night, and although I was annoyed about some parts (mostly to do with the midwife they were following), I did feel like it exposed the danger of hospital births and the “business” of obstetrics. After you watch the video (which is about an hour and a half), let me know your thoughts!
